Your living space becomes a spiritual place.

Stonemason artist Akiko Kitamura prays that whoever will own her sculpture lives happily when she carves out of a slate of 1cm in thickness and 20cm in diameter. The artist carves by hand positive patterns and words such as the Flower of Life for “producing a physical and mental energy balance” and runes that mean “you won’t get lost.” She also picks stone materials that come in different types and designs all over the world and custom orders are available. Clients can use the sculpture however they want to turn their home and offices into a spiritual place. Some decorate their rooms with the sculpture or use it as a stand for crystal, and others put their favorite accessories on it. The energy from natural stones created over the incredibly long years meets the unique, formative design by a Japanese artist at a studio in Kyoto.

薄さ1センチ、直径20センチほどの石板に“誰もが幸せに生きられますように”という石工アーティスト・北村 晃子の祈りを込めて。
「心身のエネルギーバランスを整える」と伝わるフラワーオブライフ、「あなたが道に迷わないように」という意味のルーン文字など、ポジティブな模様やワードを手作業で彫刻します。
世界各地で採取した石材の種類やデザインはオーダーメイドも可能。オブジェとして飾ったり、水晶のスタンドにしたり、アクセサリーを置いたり。心地よいと感じる使い方で、自宅やオフィスをパワースポットに。
途方もない長い年月が育んだ天然石のエネルギーと、日本の職人ならではの美しい造形を、京都の工房からお届けします。

Stone Artist
Akiko Kitamura


Born in Kyoto in 1980, Akiko Kitamura graduated from KANSAI UNIVERSITY and qualified as a national registered dietitian with a desire to get involved with quality of life (QOL) professionally. She worked at businesses and medical institutions offering nutritional guidance to people with lifestyle diseases for about 15 years. In 2022, she joined Kitamura Stonemason (established in 1869) to take over the family business.  Her work ranges from the creation of gravestones to the design of stone pieces, supporting and accompanying diverse human experiences. In addition to her practice as a stone artist, she also works as a creative director, designing spaces and experiences through stone.

石工アーティスト
北村 晃子

1980年、京都生まれ。 関西大学卒業後、QOL（クオリティ・オブ・ライフ）に関わる職種をめざし、管理栄養士の資格を取得。15年ほど、企業や病院で生活習慣病などの栄養指導を担当。2022年、家業継承のため北村石材店（1869年創業）に入社。墓石の制作から板石デザインまで、さまざまな人生に寄り添う石工ワークを行を行うとともに、石を通して空間や体験をデザインする活動へと展開。Creative Directorとしての視点も持ち、石を通して空間や体験をデザインしている。
